PortMiami is known as the Cruise Capital of the World, and on a busy Saturday several giant ships can board at once. Knowing your terminal and planning your ride makes embarkation day far less stressful. This guide covers the terminals and how a PortMiami car service helps.
Where is PortMiami?
The port sits on Dodge Island in Biscayne Bay, right beside Downtown Miami. Cars reach it over the Port Boulevard bridge or through the toll-free PortMiami Tunnel, which connects the island directly to I-395 and the MacArthur Causeway.
PortMiami terminals by cruise line
- Terminal AA: MSC Cruises
- Terminal A: Royal Caribbean, the “Crown of Miami”
- Terminal B: Norwegian Cruise Line, the “Pearl of Miami”
- Terminal C: several cruise lines
- Terminals D, E and F: Carnival Cruise Line
- Terminal G: a new Royal Caribbean terminal planned for 2027
- Terminal J: boutique and luxury cruise lines
- Terminal V: Virgin Voyages
Assignments can change by ship and season, so always check your cruise documents. When you book with us, send your ship name and we confirm the terminal.
Embarkation day tips
- Arrive within your assigned boarding window, not hours early.
- Late morning and early afternoon are the busiest times on the bridge and in the tunnel.
- Porters take checked bags at the curb, so keep documents and medications in your carry-on.
Flying in on cruise day
MIA is about 20 minutes from the port. We meet you inside baggage claim and drive straight to your terminal. See our MIA car service.
Disembarkation day
Ships usually arrive early in the morning and passengers leave in groups. We text you where your car is waiting once you clear customs.
Vehicles for cruise luggage
Couples with a few bags fit easily in the Cadillac Escalade ESV, while families and groups of up to 14 choose the Executive Sprinter.
